Heavenly Father, confident that those who ask will receive, we implore You to bless our Archdiocesan Synod. We do not ask You to bless what we are doing, but to show us what You are blessing.

Send Your Spirit to enlighten, guide and empower us to become mission- driven, vibrant, and fully alive. Help us to become more like the early Church, a faith community that perseveres in the teaching of the apostles, in the breaking of the bread, in prayer, in communion with You and each other, a community that evangelizes with zeal and daily adds to its numbers.

Stimulate us to participate prayerfully, actively, and generously, in the work of the Synod, so that its fruits may represent all that Your Spirit has inspired and the gifts given to each, be they great or small.

May our Synod foster a new springtime of faith and prepare us for the Great Jubilee and the new century. This we ask in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Saviour. Amen.

SYNOD PRAYER TO MARY

Mary, Mother of Jesus and our Mother,
you are the Mother of the Springtime of Good News.

To you we entrust our Archdiocesan Synod.

Teach us not to be frightened by the seemingly impossible.

Teach us to believe in the power of the Spirit - as you did.

Teach us to be docile to the Spirit - as you were.

Teach us to say "Yes" - as you did.

By your intercession, may our "Yes" be rewarded with great things for ourselves, and with a new springtime for all.
