Coat of Arms
The
Latin words Veritati Servire, Archbishop Miller's motto, mean to
serve the truth.
In the upper right hand side of the shield, as the viewer sees
it, is the book of the Scriptures. This is the crest of the
Congregation of St. Basil, of which the archbishop has been a
member since 1965.
On the upper left is the western sun, and a dove
representing St. Thomas Aquinas, the great doctor of the Church.
On the bottom left is the trillium, which
symbolizes the Blessed Trinity. The trillium is also the flower
of Ontario; the archbishop was born in Ottawa July 9, 1946.
On the bottom right is the Star of Mary.
