A prominent feature, welcomed and acclaimed by bereaved families and their friends, is the specially designed Committal Chapel, the first of its kind in Canada when built in 1965. Instead of having the final rites and services in the cemetery at graveside, the family has the option of holding these important religious ceremonies, with the dignity and mood they deserve, in the comfort and convenience of the Committal Chapel with its mural of the Risen Christ; this is particularly welcomed during adverse weather conditions.
