Charities Men’s Hostel
The
Catholic Charities Men’s Hostel provides shelter for over 100 transient
or destitute men in the caring and compassionate spirit of Jesus
Christ. In addition to offering beds, the Hostel also provides access
to food services and other life necessities to address patron needs.
We are inviting
candidates to submit their application for the following positions:
Desk Clerk positions (evening & midnight shifts): responsible
for the intake/discharge, communication, observation, monitoring and
referral of patrons.
Janitorial Position
(dayshift): responsible for hostel janitorial duties as required.
Job Requirements:

Must demonstrate a
positive attitude towards the less fortunate and those with
substance abuse/co-occurring problems. Be committed to treating all
clients with dignity and respect

Must demonstrate
good interpersonal skills, the ability to communicate effectively
with others and posses strong conflict resolution skills

to work with minimum supervision & posses attention to detail

Ability to maintain
confidentiality

Must be aware of and
support the Mission Statement of the Men’s Hostel and adhere to
Catholic Archdiocesan code of Ethics including a willingness to
respect spiritual beliefs and philosophy of compassionate service to
others

High school
graduation or equivalent

Previous experience
would be considered an asset

Internal Auditor (new position – full time)
The Roman Catholic
Archdiocese of Vancouver is seeking an internal auditor.
The
primary role of the Internal Auditor is to conduct compliance and
internal audits to fulfill Archdiocesan Finance Council legal and
fiduciary obligations in risk management for both Curia Offices and
Parishes, control and governance processes, provide training and support
to parish bookkeepers on QuickBooks accounting software application, and
perform special assignments as requested by the Vicar General.
Position requirements:
Ability to:

Be detail-oriented with strong organizational and
analytical abilities

Develop and deliver in-house presentations with

Knowledge of:

General accounting policies and procedures

QuickBooks and Quicken accounting programs and
Microsoft Office software programs

Canadian Income Tax Act and Regulations for
Registered Charities

Operations and administration of Catholic parishes
(preferred)
Successful applicant will have a professional accounting degree (CGA,
CA, or CMA), and have a minimum 5 years accounting and auditing
experience.
