Day of Discernment

…to a Day of Discernment

Saturday, March 10

We all need to re-examine our lives from time to time, and our religious life is no different.

Everyone has questions about their mission in life, from young adults to seasoned veterans, from new Catholics to those who have been away. At the Day of Discernment: Personal Talents and Christ’s Voice in My Life, you can find the answers you’ve been looking for.

Sponsored by the Archdiocese of Vancouver’s Stewardship Office, this one-day event is open to everyone and will give your faith life a boost. It’s also a great way to embrace the season of Lent, which will soon be on us.

Father Elton Fernandes, SJ, will offer a series of talks and interactive sessions that encourage us to examine where personal gifts and Christ’s invitation come together in our lives.

Topics include: What is discernment? How do I know which voices in life are from God and which are not? How can I make decisions in life in light of Christ’s voice?

The sessions will also encourage personal reflection: In what ways can I more clearly identify the gifts that Christ has given me? Can these gifts help me to discover my personal vocation more deeply? How am I called to live out these gifts for the good of others?

Whether you’re a cradle Catholic or recent convert, pew sitter or active in ministry, there’s no better opportunity to take stock of your role in the Church than the upcoming Day of Discernment, Saturday, March 10.

Saturday, March 10

Our Lady of Fatima Parish (Coquitlam), 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
