Contact your parish priest about receiving this Sacrament of healing

If you, or someone you know, are seriously ill, in danger of death, preparing for surgery, or elderly, contact your parish priest about receiving this sacrament of healing.

The special graces of the sacrament are:

  • It unites the sick person to the passion of Christ, for his own good, and that of the whole Church;
  • It gives strength, peace, and courage to endure in a Christian manner the sufferings of illness or old age;
  • It confers the forgiveness of sins, if the sick person was not able to obtain it through the sacrament of Penance;
  • It restores health, if it is helpful to the salvation of his soul

Anointing of the Sick can take place in the home or in the hospital.

Parishes also celebrate this sacrament within Mass. Contact your local parish to learn more.

  • Benefit from the outreach & services available within the Archdiocese of Vancouver or give back by sharing your time, talent, and treasure.
