RESOURCE LIBRARY MATERIALS
The Resource Library
has been electronically catalogued and
consists of over 30,000
titles and comprises of
Books, Audio Cassettes, VHS Video Tapes, DVDs, Music
CD's, and Reference Materials. The
Resource Library Materials are now fully searchable online using
Eloquent Systems software.
IMPORTANT:
It is the responsibility of the organization borrowing the above
materials to insure that all copyright restrictions are respected
including the use for presentation of cinematographic media:
videotape and DVD's.
RESOURCE LIBRARY LOCATION
AND TIMES
The Resource
Library resides on the 2nd floor at 150
Robson Street in downtown Vancouver. ORE's offices are open Monday
through Friday, 9:00am to 4:30pm.
The "Online" Resource
Library will be available
24/7 with small interruptions to
occasionally perform maintenance to the system
on weekends.
RESOURCE LIBRARY FUNDING AND LENDING
PRACTICES
All library materials are funded by the Roman Catholic
Archdiocese of Vancouver and are provided for the benefit of Catholic
Religious Education for Parishes, Schools, RCIA programs, Marriage
Preparation, PREP programs, Adult Religious
Education and Conferences.
Currently,
the Online Resource Library
will complete requests based on all the appropriate
information provided, explicitly, Full Name, School Name
and School Location. In the future, Schools and
Parishes will be provided a PATRON
NUMBER that will help in the tracking of lending materials.
IMPORTANT
If Library Items are required
immediately or by tomorrow it will be necessary to call the ORE
office directly @ 604-683-0281 and request items
and arrange for pickup.
Patrons and Users of
the Online Resource
Library will have the ability to
"Request Items" after their search is
complete. Requests are made by sending an email to
orelibrary@rcav.bc.ca with
the item requested in the Subject line. The
computer where you are working will already need an email program
configured for sending email. Also, please
be patient, emailed requests will be completed on a
"first come, first served" basis...if your request is not
responded to within 24hours, please call the ORE office @
604-683-0281.
DELIVERY OF REQUESTED ITEMS
The "School Courier" which
operates every Wednesday during the school year, delivers items from
150 Robson Street to all of the Schools. Please note, if your Parish
does not have a School, you will be required to handle the pickup and
delivery of the items requested.
