Most Rev. James F. Carney

Born June 28, 1915 in what was then "South Vancouver."  He became auxiliary bishop in 1966.  He faced the challenge of major changes in Church life and practices by seeking to build unity among his people.  In his 21 year episcopate, he was noted for his commitment to Catholic education, his fostering of priestly vocations, and his unquestioning loyalty to the Holy Father.
